Representation ID: 1170

OBJECT Horizon Nuclear Power (Miss Sarah Fox)

Summary:

Clarification is required as to what is meant by "development boundary".
Rather than seek for specific amendments to policy TWR1, Horizon proposes to rely on the Wylfa Newydd specific policies proposed below which will be the relevant policies against which to determine its associated development applications. For this reason Horizon is not proposing specific exclusion of its associated development from this policy.

OBJECT Bourne Leisure Ltd represented by Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners (Mr Arwel Evans)

Summary:

TWR1 does not provide sufficient flexibility to improve and extend the standard of existing facilities that are located outside development boundaries and should not be applicable to visitor attractions and facilities that are already outside development boundaries.

The policy does not acknowledge that a considerable amount of existing visitor attractions and facilities are already located outside development boundaries. Continued redevelopment of holiday accommodation is required to maintain a product that meets visitor expectations.

Point 4 does not take into account that some tourism sites are located in areas not serviced by public transport.

TWR1 should be redrafter to allow for sensitive redevelopment/reconfiguration/expansion of tourist accommodation that fall outside the settlement boundary, providing that commensurate mitigation measures (for example the inclusion of a buffer zone and appropriate landscaping) can be implemented to mitigate both direct and indirect impacts.
